Family
One of the constant themes in Eric's life has been his love of family. His immigration to Canada in 1947 was greatly influenced by the opportunity to create a home with his wife Bobbie and son David
and to provide a prosperous and secure future for them and his daughter, Rosemary, who would be born in Toronto in 1950. Rosemary was the first Canadian-born member of the family. Over the years, other members of Bobbie's family have trickled over from England to receive a warm welcome in Canada. Eric and Bobbie took care of Bobbie's mom until her death at age 100!
Eric and Bobbie first traveled to Colombia in the 1960's to visit Eric's sister and since then have enjoyed traveling around the globe, sometimes staying with friends and relatives. When settled in Canada, Eric and Bobbie have likewise opened their home to guests from around the world. Perhaps, this prepared the way for their retirement future of hosting International students, several of whom have become as close to Eric and Bobbie as their own family.
Presently, Eric spends a great deal of his time with Bobbie with a marriage that recently celebrated its 68th anniversary! Though they no longer leave Canada to travel, Eric and Bobbie still enjoy entertaining company and regularly host dinners for a full house that includes four generations of family members and International house guests!
