Future in Canada
For Roshan her family is the past, present and the future- a future that is filled with the promise and joy of seeing and knowing her family is safe, settled and provided for. Canada has become Roshan’s new and enduring home. She continues to miss her eldest son and daughter who live outside of Canada. When time and money permit, Roshan visits her son and daughter and their families. She welcomes these special opportunities to travel and spend time with the growing number of great-grandchildren she has in Toronto, Australia, India and Sri Lanka.
As a senior woman who immigrated to Canada at the age of 72, Roshan has embraced her new life here as an adventure for which she is thankful and appreciative. Roshan proudly tells everyone she meets that “Canada is our families’ heart and soul. It has provided us with a peaceful life and a life filled with honour and respect”.
